The Fender family of sofas and armchairs were developed around their armrest design. The seating’s metal fame intersects with the cushioned armrest in a way that highlights its enticing softness.
The design is meant to encourage casual and dynamic seating by inviting people to lounge on the armrest in whatever way makes them most comfortable.
“Sitting on the armrest is no longer a childish or impertinent gesture, since it is made specifically to accommodate and sustain,” said True Design.
Fender is available as an armchair or a two- or three-seater sofa. True Design recommends it for both the home and for office environments, where the seating can be used for informal meetings and get-togethers.
The tubular steel base has adjustable aluminium feet, and comes in a range of 16 standard colours including red, blue, sand yellow and ochre brown.
There is also a variety of options for the upholstery, including fabrics suitable for outdoors.
