Wulff by &Tradition

Dezeen Showroom: &tradition has launched Wulff, a lounge chair that pays tribute to the kind of handcrafted furniture produced in Denmark around the middle of the 20th century.

Wulff was originally launched as a limited edition by an unknown Copenhagen cabinetmaker in the 1930s.

After purchasing one of the few chairs still in circulation via Danish auction house Bruun Rasmussen, &tradition reissued the chair in a selection of plush upholstery.

The Wulff lounge chair is characterized by its plush upholstery

“Wulff is a striking example of this design movement, the intricacies of handmade, small-scale production readily apparent in its form,” the brand explained.

“The boundary-pushing sculptural armrests, which join to an expansive, wing-shaped backrest, are underpinned by the finest craftsmanship.”

Wulff’s wooden frame is crafted from either white oiled oak or oiled walnut and can be paired with a range of upholstery fabrics including sheepskin.

“Luxuriantly soft upholstery covers its seat and backrest – details which generally define Danish design of the 1930s,” &tradition explained.
