Illuminated Chata lamp in an interior

Dezeen Showroom: Gofi has launched the Chata table lamp, created by Barcelona design studio Goula/Figuera as a reinterpretation of traditional lighting designs with a white fabric shade.

The lamp comes in two sizes – the regular Chata and the Chata Mini.

Its lampshade is made from white linen while the base is available in oak or Sierra Elvira marble.

“In a world dominated today by the extreme minimalism that LED technology allows, we wanted to revisit the traditional format, which continues to be unsurpassed in transmitting warmth and comfort,” explained Gofi.

The lamp’s flat design enables users to place it close to walls, between bookcases or on narrow shelves.

“The shape of its lampshade appears cubic when viewed from the front but is surprisingly flat in profile, hence its name Chata meaning both flat and dear in Spanish,” the brand added.

Shortly before revealing Chata, Gofi won Spain’s Golden Delta award for its Fa Mini light.
