The Dala family includes lounge chairs, club chairs and sofas, with a frame made from powder-coated aluminium mesh.
This is interlaced with fabric strips made from a durable, synthetic fibre, using an artisanal weaving technique that is native to the Cebu Islands of the Philippines.
The proprietary material, called Fibre Touch, is weather-resistant and available in five colourways within the Dala collection.
Each colourway is named after a specific location – from Rioja and Cuba to Ubud and Ibiza – and was designed in collaboration with Italian “colour master” Giulio Ridolfo as a visual reflection of that destination.
Lightweight and portable, the seating is designed for flexible outdoor placement and comes with plush, UV-resistant cushions in a selection of Dedon’s own textiles.
“Pieces sit directly on the ground and are easily moved around the patio or carried down the steps to the beach,” Burks explained.
The Dala collection also includes a series of side and coffee tables, as well as planters and lanterns, all of which are woven in the same design as the seating.
