Covid-19 has forced companies around the world to embrace remote working, with many predicting that working from home will be here to stay long after the virus has been brought under control.
Only a couple of years ago architects and designers were trying to make offices more homely but now the challenge is how to carve out an office space in the home.
British furniture maker Benchmark has designed Noa, a height-adjustable desk that allows users to shift between sitting and standing while working.
The desk has been designed to aid productivity and encourage good posture and movement throughout the day.
The wall can be reconfigured into different shapes to help create privacy and doubles as an acoustic panel, reducing ambient noise to create an undisturbed working environment.
The flexible design means the desk can be folded up and is easily transported between rooms, enabling users to change their work setting throughout the day.
The cabinet can be unfolded into a desk with an adjustable tabletop, enabling users to raise or lower the height to suit their preferences.
The chair features a breathable fabric used for the backrest, which is contoured to provide optimal spinal support for each user.
The adaptable chair offers automatic self-adjustment to help align the seat and back for each user’s body weight, allowing users to reach maximum comfort.
The table features an electrically adjustable pillar that can be adapted to suit users’ preferred height using a controller or mobile app that saves each users’ preferences.
Each seat is composed of rounded upholstery supported by black aluminium legs. The seats are encased with a sound-absorbing panel to create privacy and enhance concentration for users.
